ILS – Inventory of Leadership Styles from Hay Group®

What is ILS?

ILS is an instrument to diagnose and develop Leadership Styles, offered by our consultants who are certified in the instrument by the Hay Group.

It is the culmination of decades of research amongst top global organizations and Hay Group.

This multi-rater survey provides leaders and managers with a profile of their Leadership Style in six dimensions.

ILS helps them discover if their strengths and weaknesses are Directive, Visionary, Affiliative, Participative, Pacesetting or Coaching, comparing the results with a global sample of 10,000 leaders of all management levels in all industries.

ILS provides two profiles – the Leadership Style that the leader aims to implement and the Leadership Style perceived by his/her direct employees. Thus, it measures how the leader really leads versus how he perceives to lead.

ILS Objective

The higher people climb the career ladder, the easier is to overstate and create blind spots that restrain their effectiveness as leaders.

This tendency of executives to develop blind spots can be overcome through feedback from employees.

Application in organizations

  • Personal Development;
  • Leadership Development;
  • Organizational Development.

OCS – Organizational Climate Survey from Hay Group®

What is OCS?

OCS allows a diagnosis of all areas of the organizational climate that impact financial results, being offered by our consultants who are certified in the instrument by the Hay Group.

It is the outcome of 20 years of research conducted by Harvard Business School and the Hay Group.

The Organizational Climate refers to the employees’ perception on work environment aspects that directly impact performance. It's what people answers to the question "How is working here?"

Hay Group concluded that people more satisfied with their working environment are more engaged. Investigation showed that the climate is responsible for about 30% of organizational results.

In most professions, especially in more complex ones, there is a gap between what employees do and what they can do if operating at their best.

A positive climate will encourage a discretionary effort, while a negative mood will remove the motivation.

OCS allows to identify the atmosphere that each manager is generating for his/her team in the following six dimensions:
  • Flexibility;
  • Responsibility;
  • Standards;
  • Rewards;
  • Clarity;
  • Team Commitment.

OCS Objective

OCS aims at identifying the individual perceptions that have a direct impact on how each employee develops his/her work. It allows an understanding of which areas HR and managers should improve and how they can do it.

Application in organizations

The OCS is used as an assessment instrument across all activity sectors around the world in areas such as:
  • Personal Development;
  • Leadership Development;
  • Organizational Development.

Applying the questionnaire is simple. The evaluation is done online and typically is available for 3 weeks for participants to respond.

OCS results are compared with millions of managers worldwide across all industries, sectors, functions and management levels. Feedback gives an accurate perspective on how the organization behave.
